REESEVILLE, Wis. — A De Pere woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after reportedly leading law enforcement in multiple counties on a series of pursuits.
According to Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt, his office was first notified around 1:43 p.m. that a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper had chased a vehicle in Winnebago County, and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was chasing the vehicle just north of the Dodge County line.
Fond du Lac deputies eventually lost sight of the vehicle and ended their pursuit, however the vehicle was sighted in the Juneau area and again as it was heading toward Beaver Dam on County W.
A Beaver Dam officer began chasing the vehicle, and it eventually drove south out of Juneau on County G. At one point, stop sticks were laid down but the driver was able to evade them, nearly hitting a Dodge County Sheriff’s detective in the process.
The officer lost sight of the vehicle and the pursuit ended again.
At one point, a Reeseville resident called the sheriff’s office to report that the vehicle had arrived at a trailer court. Another resident reported seeing people running out of a field and into a different vehicle. Deputies stopped that vehicle and took those inside into custody.
Schmidt identified a 19-year-old De Pere woman as the driver involved in the pursuits. She faces charges of reckless endangerment of safety and criminal operating without a valid driver’s license.
Additional charges of knowingly fleeing a law enforcement officer are expected to be filed by other law enforcement agencies involved in the purusits.
