DE PERE (WLUK) — If you’ve never been to the Mulva Cultural Center in De Pere, now is the perfect time to go.

Exhibits and most films are now free and there’s art to see from local artists.

Executive Director Marv Wall talked about the impact of now having free exhibits and most films.

Currently in the atrium is the Tactile Images exhibit. It takes the famous works of artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Johannes Vermeer, and Vincent van Gogh, and harnesses the senses of touch, sound, and smell to help the blind and visually impaired community experience visual knowledge in a meaningful way. In addition to 3D imagery, braille is used for text, and a combination of sensors are embedded in strategic locations to provide a customized, touch-activated narrative. Olfactory sensors can also be added to bring another level of depth and authenticity to the image. This runs until Feb. 11.
